Swedish fintech company Klarna launched its first subscription plan, “Klarna Plus,” for $7.99 per month, featuring benefits like no added service fees when using Klarna’s One Time Card, double rewards points and access to exclusive discounts with popular brands. Link.

Shopify ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) are bigger businesses who are generally less price sensitive. Furthermore people will understand the correction due to inflation. Third and finally this is a way to reinforce the positioning aim of the company to move more upmarket. Being cheap is not good to sell to bigger businesses. Link.

Software companies have a bright future.
Apart from OpenAI & Microsoft many large SaaS companies are beating predictions & raising their growth expectations because of AI. Mongo & Snowflake announced accelerations in their businesses as a result of AI. ServiceNow is the most recent, stating in the last earning call that “In Q4, our gen AI products drove the largest net new ACV contribution for our first full quarter of any of our new product family releases ever, including our original Pro SKU.” Link.
Rising Stars
In last month newsletter I mentioned how Shopify CEO, Nvidia and Jeff Bezos amongst others invested in AI-powered search app Perplexity. This months it entered the top 10 on the App Store productivity charts, ahead of apps like Google Calendar and Microsoft Word.
